Residents are encouraged to be active members of their communities by attending events in the halls, neighborhood, and larger GW and DC community. Students can also serve as student leaders within our Residence Hall Association (RHA) and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH). Students are also welcomed to apply to be a student staff member on our team. Residence Hall Association Student Staffing Opportunities ​ You can see the Washington Monument and the United States Capitol Building from the top few floors of many of the Residence Halls. ​ Kerry Washington lived on the 8th floor of Thurston Hall. ​ Students lived in the Howard Johnsons across from the Watergate, made famous by the Watergate scandal and Forrest Gump .
